[Jaundice and hepatic hemangioma after ten years of oral contraception and recent administration of triacetyloleandomycin]

[Article in French]

Meyniel D, Pieron R, Cotillon C, Huguet C, Lecomte D.

PIP: The article presents the case of a 38 year old patient, on OC (oral contraception) for 10 years. She had had recent administration of triacetyloleandomycin for a sinusitis. Pruritus and jaundice appeared suddenly and hospitalization was advised. Laparoscopy showed a cholestatic liver, and lobectomy diagnosed the presence of an hemangioma. If it is not possible to associate with certainty OC administration with the presence of benign hepatic tumors, it is possible to state that OC increases their volume and favors their rupture.
